Miniature art works of Kashmiri Pandits predominantly comprise of Hindu religious themes. These works often illustrate prayer books and horoscopes. A few, in large portrait sizes too have compact florescence of several miniature illustrations. The colours used are natural shades derived from plant sources.   Brush and nib used in these creations are the indigenous cotton tips, quail feathers and reed or metallic styluses. The representative collection has about fifty original works, believed to be the largest single holding post exodus of the Kashmiri Pandit community, that date between the 18th and 20th century. Generally these works are anonymous. However, in certain cases the identities of artists are known. Most of these paintings are drawn on paper with a few preserved by parchment support. An occasional one is drawn on cardboard.  All the paintings are in good state of preservation and mostly untouched by secondary hands.
